Kartik Aaryan was earlier ousted from the upcoming Karan Johar’s production movie ‘Dostana 2’ and later from ‘Freddie’ produced by Shah Rukh Khan, now there are rumours that the actor has lost yet another potential project. The actor was bonded by filmmaker Aanand L Rai for his upcoming gangster movie, but Aaryan is no longer a part of this film.
Sources say that Kartik had a conversation with Aanand L Rai and had read the script and heard the narration, but things fell apart before he signed up for the contract.
The report of Kartik Aaryan and Aanand L Rai teaming up appeared in February when the Aaryan was spotted outside Rai’s Mumbai office. However, the valid reason for the failure of the project remains unspecified.
Apparently, Kartik was not even informed of the makers replacing him with another actor. According to the sources, Anand is now planning to pitch Ayushmann Khurana for this movie with whom he had collaborated before in ‘Subh Mangal Savdhan (2017)’ and for ‘Subh Mangal Zada Savdhan (2020)’ so it does not come as a surprise if he may have readily come to the board.
In the interview with Hindustan Times, Anand L Rai said that nothing was formalised with the Kartik Aaryan and without getting into more details, he added, “As a production house, we work on several scripts and pitch it to actors — that’s the process. Actors keep meeting you, you keep telling them what you are working on, they express their desire to collaborate. And then, depending upon the subject, you decide if you should approach them. But that doesn’t mean you have signed them.”
