Kat Dennings has expressed interest in reviving 2 Broke Girls, the sitcom that ran from 2011 to 2017, where she played Max Black alongside Beth Behrs’ Caroline Channing. Dennings recently shared her surprise at how 2 Broke Girls continues to remain relevant on social media, particularly on TikTok, where fans are still editing scenes of her character into viral “thirst traps.”
Despite the show wrapping up six years ago, Dennings is open to revisiting her role as Max Black, even joking about playing an “old, ancient” version of the character, which would be a fun twist for a potential reboot. She mentioned that although both she and Behrs are currently involved in other sitcoms, they would both be open to the idea if the timing worked out.
2 Broke Girls followed the unlikely friendship between Max, a working-class waitress, and Caroline, the daughter of a billionaire who lost everything, as they worked together to launch a business while waitressing at a diner in Brooklyn. The show garnered attention for its comedic chemistry between Dennings and Behrs but also faced criticism for its reliance on controversial humor. It was nominated for 12 Emmy Awards during its run, with one win in 2012 for Art Direction.
While a reboot is still up in the air, Dennings is staying busy with her new Hulu comedy Shifting Gears, which centers on a father-daughter relationship. Fans of 2 Broke Girls can only hope that the show may return in some form in the future.
