Kristin Cavallari Recounts Creepy Encounter with Burglar in Her Bedroom

Kristin Cavallari recently shared a terrifying experience from a family trip to the Bahamas in 2020, when an intruder broke into her home while she was staying with her children and ex-husband, Jay Cutler. Speaking on her podcast Let’s Be Honest, Cavallari explained that her kids—Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor—are still unaware of what happened during the unsettling night.

At the time, the HVAC unit had malfunctioned, and Cavallari had stored jewelry from her brand, Uncommon James, in her closet. One night, while she was asleep with her son Camden, Cavallari woke up to find a man crawling on the floor of her bedroom. “I woke up to a man crawling on my bedroom floor,” she recalled, adding that she was “so out of it” from just waking up. Initially, she questioned the man with a shocked, “What the f**k are you doing?” The intruder quickly stood up and fled the room.

Cavallari described the intruder as wearing a ski mask and all-black clothing. “He had a ski mask on, full black arms, black pants—the full thing. And I went, ‘Oh, f**k,’” she said. Despite the frightening circumstances, she didn’t scream or shout, explaining that her instincts kicked in. Since her son, Camden, was sleeping beside her, Cavallari refrained from yelling out. “Your instincts just kick in,” she explained, emphasizing how calm she remained at the time.

After waking up her ex-husband, Jay Cutler, Cavallari started to feel the full weight of the situation and began shaking. While she had remained calm initially, the realization of what had happened made her feel a rush of fear. As it turned out, the intruder had taken all the cash in the house in a backpack, but the situation was resolved when they later discovered the man’s identity. It was revealed that the intruder was actually the HVAC technician who had come to fix the broken unit.

Cavallari acknowledged that the incident would likely scare her children if they ever learned about it, so she has decided not to tell them until they are older. She believes that some things are better left unsaid to children, as they don’t need to carry the burden of such scary experiences.
