The romcom Loveyapa will mark the theatrical debut of Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor. Junaid revealed how Farah Khan once stopped teaching him to dance and even cancelled his dance routine from a song in a recent interview with Bharti Singh and Harssh Limbachiyaa on their YouTube channel.
When filming a dance performance, Junaid and Khushi joked that they don’t need glycerin because the choreographer alone makes them cry. Junaid then recounted how Farah Khan chose to exclude his dance part from a Loveyapa song shoot.
“Farah ma’am cancelled our dance,” he said. “We learnt the steps from her aides during rehearsals. However, she cancelled my portion after seeing me perform and kept solely Khushi’s dance. ‘Tujhse nahi hoga, tu chalke aa,’ she said after watching me perform in front of her. ‘Tu baithke dekh isko’, khushi se dance hoga’.”
In addition, Junaid acknowledged that he is very bad at dancing and said, “I had to do Garba in Maharaj.” “I practiced for four hours every day for ten weeks. I’m really slender in the movie, and it’s all down to the magic of choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant, also known as Vaibhavi ma’am.”
“Take everything out of the song, Shweta ma’am. She didn’t save a single one of my mid-shots, even though I didn’t look well in it. I looked excellent because she only took wide-to-close pictures.”
For the uninitiated, Loveyapa’s love number Rehna Kol was choreographed by Farah Khan. The music video primarily shows Junaid admiring Khushi, but the song, which is sung by Jubin Nautiyal and Zahrah S. Khan, also has a separate dance sequence with Khushi.
Loveyapa, a romantic comedy and Hindi version of the Tamil film Love Today (2022), is directed by Advait Chandan. Khushi and Junaid, also known as Baani and Gucci, are shown in the trailer as wanting to be married. But when the bride’s father pushes them to switch phones for a full day, their Gen-Z romance takes an unexpected turn. The movie is expected to be released on 7 February.
