Mangli breaks silence on Sarke Chunar row; announces revised version of KD song

Singer Mangli has issued a public apology following the backlash surrounding the song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke from the upcoming film KD: The Devil. The track, which features Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, faced criticism soon after release for its suggestive and explicit lyrics.

Responding to the growing controversy, Mangli took to social media to acknowledge public concerns and confirm that the song had been taken down across platforms. In her statement, she expressed regret over the situation, clarifying that there was no intention to hurt sentiments and calling it an “unintended mistake.”

She further revealed that the lyrics have now been revised and a corrected version of the track would be released shortly. Assuring listeners that such incidents would not be repeated, the singer also extended her gratitude to the film’s team and music composer Arjun Janya.

Originally recorded in Kannada as Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse for Dhruva Sarja’s film, the song was later released in multiple languages, including Hindi, where it drew widespread attention for its content. The controversy quickly escalated online, prompting swift action from the makers.

Notably, Mangli chose to disable comments on her post, indicating the intensity of the reactions. Known for her work in Telugu cinema and for promoting regional folk culture, the singer has previously lent her voice to popular films like Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Hari Hara Veera Mallu.
