It looks like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s holiday card from 2023 included a rare and previously unseen family photo—and fans only just spotted it.
A black-and-white image of the couple with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, was noticed in the background of Gloria Steinem’s NYC home tour featured in Architectural Digest nearly two months ago. Eagle-eyed fans picked up on the detail, revealing the Sussexes smiling while lying in the grass with their heads together.
The intimate photo was part of a private holiday card the couple sent to close friends and family last year. Meghan and Steinem have maintained a friendship, with the feminist icon previously praising the Duchess as “smart and funny and devoted to social issues.”
For Christmas 2024, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent out two separate cards—one private and another public. The public holiday greeting featured six images, five of which highlighted their humanitarian work, including trips to Nigeria and Colombia. The sixth was a heartwarming family photo showing Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, running toward their parents, joined by their dogs, Guy, Pula, and Mia. The image also confirmed that both kids have inherited their father’s signature red hair.
While the couple has shared glimpses of their children in projects like their Harry & Meghan Netflix docuseries, they remain committed to maintaining Archie and Lili’s privacy. Harry, in particular, is determined to ensure they have as normal a childhood as possible, reportedly driven by his late mother Princess Diana’s tragic experience with media intrusion.
