Billy Ray Cyrus recently addressed the backlash he faced after his performance at Donald Trump’s inaugural Liberty Ball, where technical issues marred his set. Speaking to People, he explained that despite the glitches, he wouldn’t have missed the opportunity to perform at the event, emphasizing that technical problems are a part of live shows. He shared, “When the producer says: ‘You’re on,’ you go entertain the folks even if the equipment goes to hell.”
Cyrus faced multiple difficulties during his performance, which included songs like Old Town Road and Achy Breaky Heart. At one point, he was frustrated when his guitar wasn’t working, and he even questioned whether the audience could hear him. He made light of the situation by joking, “When you have technical difficulties, you got to just keep going, or as President Trump would say, you got to fight!”
Despite Cyrus’s efforts to salvage the performance, the situation quickly went viral, with many online users mocking his technical issues and his reaction to them. Some people found it “embarrassing,” while others compared it to the infamous Milli Vanilli lip-syncing incident. Nonetheless, Cyrus stood by his performance, insisting that he was there to entertain and that these challenges were simply part of the live experience.
