Milind Soman has addressed the long-standing attention around his relationship with Ankita Konwar, saying that their bond has always been stronger than public opinion. Married since April 2018, the couple has often faced discussions over their 26-year age gap, but Soman believes their connection has helped them move past the noise.
Speaking in a recent interaction with Zoom, the actor shared that while online criticism did not affect him much, it initially had an impact on Ankita. He explained that he encouraged her to not take such comments seriously, as they come from people who do not truly know them. According to him, she quickly understood this perspective and chose to ignore the negativity.
Over time, Soman said, their relationship only grew stronger, making outside opinions less important. He added that while there is now greater acceptance of their relationship, it is not something they depend on. For him, the fact that they have been together for over a decade speaks more than public approval.
Reflecting on their differences, Soman pointed out that their age gap also brings variations in thinking, upbringing and life experiences. However, he sees these differences as something that adds value rather than creates distance.
He also spoke about their cultural backgrounds, noting that Ankita is Assamese while he is Maharashtrian, with different languages, food habits and lifestyles. Despite these contrasts, he said they have managed to build a shared space of understanding, calling it something special that has made his life better.
