Actress Neena Gupta has published her autobiography, recently. The book is in the news, since the day it got published, due to several reasons. The book contained several untold stories of the Bollywood as well as Neena’s personal life. The Badhai Ho actress’ career graph was very interesting. She was one of the known faces of the industry in the 90s. But later as she aged, not many roles were offered to her.
After a point of time, she didn’t receive any offers for acting. That was a depressing phase in her life. At that time, she decided to write a post on Instagram, asking for roles, so that people will come to know that she is willing to make a comeback. Looking back at this incident, she wrote in her book that she feels choked with guilt and shame for sharing that post. It was just an impromptu decision taken after a meeting with director, Zoya Akhtar.
In an interview with NDTV, she said, “The media I could handle; my friends asking me if I was okay, if my life and marriage was okay, I could handle. What was scaring me was my daughter, a widely recognized and famous fashion designer and public figure, Masaba Gupta would say.” But then she was surprised to know that Masaba had shared that post on her story.
In 2017, Neena Gupta had shared a beautiful picture on her post and wrote, “I live in Mumbai and working am a good actor looking for good parts to play.” She received a lot of support from her fans and well-wishers after this post.
Later, director Amit Sharma, offered her a movie in which she had a prominent character. It was the 2018, Badhai Ho, starring Ayushmann Khurana, Sanya Malhotra and Gajraj Rao along with Neena Gupta. Recently, she was seen in ‘Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar’ and ‘Sardar ka Grandson’ on Netflix.
