Patrick Schwarzenegger is set to make his White Lotus debut in Season 3, and for him, landing the role was an emotional experience.
In an interview with People Magazine, Schwarzenegger revealed that his family had been urging him to audition for the Emmy-winning anthology for years. His mother, Maria Shriver, and sister were especially persistent, questioning why he hadn’t gone out for a role yet.
“When the confirmation popped into my mailbox, I couldn’t hold back my tears,” he shared, adding that the first person he told was his fiancée, Abby Champion. The news was particularly special, as the couple had just gotten engaged a week prior.
Schwarzenegger kept his audition a secret at first, thinking he had only a slim chance of getting cast. But once the role was confirmed, he gathered his family for lunch to break the news. The reaction? A full-blown emotional meltdown.
“My mom started bursting out crying. Then my sister started crying, and then I started crying, and then Abby started. It was like a domino effect of mayhem and tears,” he recalled.
Schwarzenegger will play Saxon, a self-described “complete flirt and alpha male.” He joins a star-studded ensemble, including Walton Goggins, Leslie Bibb, Parker Posey, and Carrie Coon.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer—The White Lotus Season 3 is set to premiere on February 16. With a new setting, a fresh cast, and Schwarzenegger’s highly anticipated debut, it’s shaping up to be another must-watch season!
