Prince William had to cancel a planned visit to the Army Air Corps (AAC) regiment in Wattisham due to poor weather conditions. Kensington Palace explained that the adverse weather would have “significantly restricted” the planned activities. The Prince of Wales expressed his apologies to those who were expecting to meet with him, while assuring that the event would be rescheduled as soon as possible.
The visit had been anticipated to include a grand arrival by Wildcat Helicopter, followed by interactions with armed forces members and training teams. Prince William was also expected to spend time with the families of servicemen and women, discussing life in the regiment and the skills and qualities required to stay mentally and physically healthy in such demanding roles.
This would have marked his second major outing since visiting the College of Paramedics in Birmingham on January 15. On his return journey to London, William even took time to chat with some fans of his favorite football team, Aston Villa, at a local pub.
The visit was significant as the Army Air Corps was a regiment previously associated with his younger brother, Prince Harry, before he stepped down from royal duties. In May 2024, King Charles honored Prince William as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Corps, marking a pivotal shift in royal military appointments.
