Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh meets PM Narendra Modi on New Year

The Prime Minister revealed excerpts of their talk in a video that was uploaded to Instagram on New Year Day.

While the PM stated that Mr. Dosanjh has lived up to his moniker, Diljit won the hearts of people all over the world, the singer congratulated PM Modi and said that his remarks about his mother and the Ganga River, which is also respected as a mother, impacted everyone.

“It feels fantastic when a boy from an Indian village brings honour to India.” The PM addressed Mr. Dosanjh in Hindi, saying, “Your family called you Diljit, and you keep winning people over.”

According to the artist, he had always read about India’s greatness and finally comprehended why after travelling the whole country. “One of India’s advantages is its vast size. We are a thriving society,” the prime minister said.

PM Modi claimed that only those who engage in the age-old practice are aware of its potency, while the singer added that yoga is almost a mystical invention from India. “I watched the recent interview you did. You are the prime minister to us, and since it’s a massive job, we occasionally forget that you are a human being with a son.”

“We get emotional when you talk about your mother or Ganga Maa,” Mr. Dosanjh remarked. Then he sang a devotional song on Guru Nanak.

Diljit also shared his experience on X, “A fantastic start to 2025. A very memorable meeting with PM @narendramodi Ji. We talked about a lot of things, including music of course!

“A great interaction with Diljit Dosanjh! He’s truly multifaceted, blending talent and tradition. We connected over music, culture and more… @diljitdosanjh,” the PM replied.
