A fresh controversy has emerged around the upcoming Kannada film KD: The Devil after its song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke drew criticism for its suggestive lyrics and bold choreography. Featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, the track quickly became a talking point online, with sections of viewers questioning its content.
As the debate intensified, Rakshita, actor-turned-producer and wife of director Prem, addressed the backlash through a series of social media posts. Without dismissing concerns entirely, she raised questions about what she described as “selective outrage,” pointing out that several songs and films with similar or stronger themes had previously been accepted without such strong reactions.
She also defended Prem’s body of work, stating that a single song should not define a filmmaker’s credibility or intent. While acknowledging that audiences have the right to question creative choices, she drew a clear line against personal attacks and online abuse, urging people to express criticism respectfully.
Rakshita further highlighted the challenges faced by the Kannada film industry, noting that filmmakers often struggle with distribution and audience reach. According to her, the situation is not unique to one project but reflects a broader issue within Sandalwood.
The controversy also led to action on digital platforms, with the Hindi version of the song reportedly being removed from YouTube. Despite the ongoing debate, Rakshita assured fans that the team would take the right steps moving forward and asked for patience and trust.
