A video of YouTuber and podcast host Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps Guy, has gone viral amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his remark on India’s Got Latent. The clip shows Allahbadia crying and calling himself guilty, leading many to believe he was expressing regret over his statement on the talent show.
In the video, Allahbadia, dressed in a white t-shirt, says, “Mujhe isliye bura lag raha hai kyunki sab kaam band ho gaya (I feel bad because all the work has stopped) b*****d. I just feel I am guilty. Poori team ko aise expose kar diya. Meri wajah se poora kaam band ho gaya hai (I exposed the entire team. Because of me, all the work has stopped).”
However, fact-checks reveal that the video is not related to the India’s Got Latent controversy. It is an old clip from three years ago, recorded during the second wave of Covid-19. The original video shows Allahbadia testing positive for Covid and discussing the impact of the lockdown on his work.
Meanwhile, the India’s Got Latent controversy continues, with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell and Guwahati Crime Branch filing cases against the show and its creators, including influencers Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, and host Samay Raina. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has strongly condemned Allahbadia’s remarks, calling for a ban on the show.
