The way Pushpa star Allu Arjun was arrested in Hyderabad in relation to a fan’s death during the Pushpa 2: The Rule launch upset actor Ravi Kishan. Described as a “black day” in Indian film history, the actor revealed that it was an inappropriate approach to handle a national hero.
As per ANI, Ravi quoted, “Bahut dukhad, mere acche mitra, mere co-actor. Hum logo ne saath main film ki. Ek gentleman insaan ko iss tarah unke ghar se bahar kheech kar lana unke chote bachchon aur boodhe maata pita ke saamne.”
He adds, “Ek National Award-winning actor ke saath you’re behaving like this. This is a black day for the actor fraternity, for the film industry and for all his fans all over the world. Ek insaan tax-payer hai, itna bada business cinema ko diya aur ek bohot hi tehezeebdaar insaan uske saath koi personal revenge hai?”
“Yeh bohot hi bura din raha aur hurt hue hain hum… Unke chote bache par jo dimaagi asar hua hoga apne papa ke liye, usko kaise mitayenge?,” he concludes.
Following the death of a fan at the launch of his most recent movie, Pushpa 2, last week, Allu Arjun was taken into custody from his home in Banjara Hills on Friday afternoon. On December 4, when the actor and his co-star Rashmika Mandanna arrived at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad for the film’s screening, a stampede-like situation broke out. After her kid was taken to the hospital, where he remains critically ill, 35-year-old Revathi perished in the chaos.
In the FIR that the deceased’s husband filed, Allu Arjun was listed as an accused. The Telangana High Court granted the actor temporary bail for four weeks after a lower court sentenced him to 14 days of judicial custody. The actor remained in jail overnight, though, so his experience was far from done.
According to jail officials, they were unable to handle the actor’s release on time because they did not get the bail order in a timely manner. Allu Arjun’s attorney, however, has denounced it as “illegal detention” and stated that they will “take legal steps.”
A political slugfest was also sparked by the high-profile arrest, with the BJP and BRS attacking the Telangana ruling Congress for the treatment of the star and TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud retaliating that everyone is treated equally under the law.
