The trailer launch of Raja Shivaji in Mumbai turned into an emotional evening as Riteish Deshmukh was overwhelmed while addressing the audience. The actor-director, who helms the historical drama, grew teary-eyed while thanking Abhishek Bachchan for his unwavering support, describing him as someone who stood by him like family.
The event saw the presence of several prominent names, including Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, and Sanjay Dutt. While the evening was meant to celebrate the film’s grand vision, it was the heartfelt moments between the team that stood out. Riteish, speaking in Marathi, expressed deep gratitude towards his co-stars and collaborators, acknowledging their belief in the project.
Genelia Deshmukh, who stars in the film and has also co-produced it, was visibly emotional during the event. Dressed in a traditional Nauvari saree paired with Maharashtrian jewellery, she reflected the cultural spirit of the film. She will be seen playing Saibai Rani Saheb in the ambitious period drama.
Abhishek Bachchan, when asked about joining the project, said he could not turn down a story rooted in such historical importance.
