Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to Skip 2025 Golden Globes

Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Blake Lively have decided to skip the 2025 Golden Globes, despite their involvement in the record-breaking Deadpool & Wolverine, which is nominated in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category. Sources confirm that the decision was made well in advance and is not related to the legal issues surrounding Lively’s ongoing case against It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni. Lively, who had a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, is embroiled in a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit, but insiders clarify that this is not the reason for their absence.

Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser has made it clear that she will avoid humor related to Lively’s legal battle, calling the topic “too sensitive.” Reynolds and Jackman have both been familiar faces at the Golden Globes in the past. Reynolds was nominated in 2017 for Deadpool and Jackman, a four-time nominee, won Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical for his role in Les Miserables.

While the couple’s absence may disappoint fans, it underscores personal and professional decisions made ahead of the event. Meanwhile, Deadpool & Wolverine continues to enjoy widespread recognition for its massive success, with $1.33 billion in worldwide earnings.
