Saif Ali Khan knife attack: Here’s how the attacker escaped from the actor’s flat

According to the authorities, Khan and his employees had locked him in the flat following the assault, but he managed to escape with a shovel. Today, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national who entered India illegally and assumed the identity Bijoy Das, was taken into custody in the Thane district of Maharashtra.

According to the authorities, the accused slept at a bus stop till dawn after attacking Khan inside his home. Following the event, he slept until 7 a.m. on January 16 at a bus stop close to Patwardhan Garden in Bandra West. A police official told PTI that he later boarded a train and arrived in Worli, which is in central Mumbai.

He ascended a pipe in the shaft from the sixth floor to the twelfth, according to the official. “Our investigation revealed that he used the stairs to reach the seventh or eighth story, then went into the duct area, used a pipe to ascend to the twelfth level and broke into the actor’s apartment through a bathroom window.”

“After he emerged from the lavatory, the actor’s staff noticed him, which set off the series of events that culminated in the assault”, the official stated. The officer added that he asked Saif Ali Khan’s employees to pay him ₹1 crore.

Later, as Khan entered the room, he stabbed him. According to the police, the man was trapped inside the flat by Saif Ali Khan. But he used the same shaft to climb down. Additionally, the police claimed to have discovered suspicious objects in the man’s backpack.

“The defendant stabbed Khan in the back after becoming alarmed. Later, thinking the accused was pinned inside, Khan closed the flat. The accused, however, was able to escape from the same location where he had entered. From his bag, we have found a hammer, a screwdriver, nylon rope, and other items,” the official stated.

According to the authorities, the accused was unaware that he had gone into Saif Ali Khan’s home. After watching television news, he discovered that the Bollywood star was the one he had attacked. Shehzad comes from the Jhalokathi, sometimes known as Jhalakathi, district in the Barisal division of southern Bangladesh.

The official stated that he has been charged under sections 311 (robbery or dacoity with intent to cause serious hurt or death), 331(4) (house-breaking), and other parts of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in addition to the Passport Act. His attorney countered that there is no evidence the authorities have that he was a citizen of Bangladesh.
