Samantha Ruth Prabhu Opens Up About Career Struggles and Finding Balance

Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently reflected on her 15-year-long career in an interview with The Times of India. Since her debut in the 2010 romantic drama Ye Maaya Chesave, Samantha has become one of the most prominent actors in Telugu and Tamil cinema.

Speaking candidly, Samantha revealed how she once tied her self-worth to the success of her films, leading to immense pressure. “It was stressful because I tied my self-worth to the success of each film. Every Friday became a source of anxiety because my confidence depended on box office numbers. That was a recipe for disaster,” she admitted. Now, Samantha says she has gained a “clearer perspective” and is “much kinder” to herself.

She also reflected on her earlier performances, admitting that some of them make her “cringe.” She explained that during her initial years, she struggled to fit in, especially in glamorous roles. “I tried to look like my fantastic peers—act like them, dance like them. When I watch those performances now, I find them absolutely ridiculous,” she said.

In recent years, Samantha has expanded her career beyond films. In 2023, she starred in Shaakuntalam and Kushi, and in 2024, she made her web series debut with Citadel: Honey Bunny on Prime Video. She is currently working on the web series Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom with Raj & DK and is also producing a film titled Maa Inti Bangaram. From commercial hits like Brindavanam and Dookudu to her current ventures, Samantha continues to evolve while embracing new challenges.
