Samantha Ruth Prabhu opens up about sending Kiara Advani’s, Kriti Sanon’s, pictures to Raj & DK as her replacements

After the success of Citadel: Honey Bunny, Samantha Ruth Prabhu opens up about suggesting other actresses for her role.

Since her diagnosis of myositis, an inflammatory disease, was negatively affecting her health, the actress recently disclosed that she had asked Raj & DK to take her position on the show. Even images of Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon were submitted to the filmmaker duo, she revealed.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed in a recent interview with Galatta India that she was totally happy when she was given the chance to play the lead in Citadel: Honey Bunny. The actor expressed how thrilled she was to be playing the part.

A few months later, Sam said, she never imagined that she would be asking Raj and DK to take her place. Given her situation, the Kushi actress said she didn’t think she could perform in the performance.

Samantha admitted to the directors that she even recommended her replacements, saying, “I actually sent them Kiara’s pictures and Kriti’s pictures. Telling them, Oh my God, she is so hot,” I recall sending them around four. Have a peek at her. She will be wonderful when she takes action. Samantha remembered stating that she couldn’t accomplish it.”

She added that she didn’t need to introduce the actresses to Raj and DK because they informed her that they knew Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani. Samantha Ruth Prabhu performed action-packed scenes in Citadel: Honey Bunny and won a lot of admiration from the public despite her health issues.

The viewers have also praised her chemistry with Varun Dhawan. “When stuntman Bunny takes on struggling actress Honey for a side gig, they are thrown into a high-stakes world of action, espionage, and betrayal,” reads the official synopsis.

Years later, the estranged Honey and Bunny must get back together and defend their young daughter Nadia as their perilous history comes back to haunt them. Citadel: Honey Bunny is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and D2R Films.

The show was released on Amazon Prime Video on November 7, 2024, and was executive produced by Raj & DK and AGBO of The Russo Brothers.
