Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan’s house in Mumbai, is now a popular tourist destination. The historic villa, which has been occupied by the actor and his family for more than 25 years, is located across from the famous Bandra Bandstand and receives hundreds of selfie-seeking fans every day.
The Khans, however, will vacate their home and move into an apartment complex later this year. The lavish bungalow’s extensive makeover is the cause. Renovations at Mannat are scheduled to start in May, according to sources who spoke to HT. This includes the bungalow’s long-planned addition, for which Shah Rukh needed the court’s approval.
Since Mannat is a Grade III heritage building, any structural alterations must be approved by the appropriate authorities. However, Shah Rukh and his family will be moving to a new address as the renovations are scheduled to start in a little more than two months. Shah Rukh, his wife Gauri, and their children, Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam, are moving into four floors of a high-end condominium complex in Bandra’s Pali Hill neighbourhood.
Filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani has leased these floors to Shah Rukh, according to an HT report. Bhagnani’s actor son Jackky Bhagnani and his daughter Deepshika Deshmukh, who co-own Puja Casa, signed a leave and licence arrangement with Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
According to sources, in addition to the Khan family, the four levels would contain their employees, security, and even some office space. A source stated, “It is obviously not as spacious as Mannat; there is enough room to accommodate his security and other staff.”
According to reports, he will pay ₹24 lakh a month for the four floors of rent. Sources claim that Shah Rukh and his group are attempting to guarantee his family’s safety and privacy at the flat building.
The actor has leased two duplex apartments on the first, second, seventh, and eighth floors of the skyscraper, according to a Business Standard story. Three years have passed since the apartments were leased. According to insiders, the renovations in Mannat could take up to two years, however it is unknown if the Khan family intends to stay that long.
