The highly anticipated final season of The Handmaid’s Tale is almost here, as production on the award-winning Hulu series has officially wrapped up. Cast members Amanda Brugel and O.T. Fagbenle took to social media to confirm the conclusion of filming, giving fans a sneak peek into the last few days on set.
Brugel, who plays Rita, shared a heartfelt video montage of cast and crew celebrating the end of the series, reflecting on her time working on the show, which is based on Margaret Atwood’s novel. In her Instagram post, she expressed gratitude for the friendships and memories created throughout the journey. She poignantly noted, “Decades from now, should you ask me what I remember of you, I will recount my very own liberation from a life that did not serve me. And the laughter. And holding hands with Margaret. But most of all, without fail, I shall remember the dancing. That’s how love goes.”
The Handmaid’s Tale, which debuted in 2017, quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Set in a dystopian future after a Civil War in America, the series follows the harrowing life of women forced into servitude as child-bearers in the totalitarian regime of Gilead. The show has won 15 Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes over its five seasons, cementing its place as a TV icon.
While the plot details of the final season remain tightly under wraps, Elisabeth Moss, who stars as June and also serves as an executive producer, teased that the final season will be “big and wild” with shocking twists. Fagbenle, who portrays Luke, also shared a group of photos with co-stars like Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, and Brugel, captioning the post with a simple yet excited message: “THAT’S A WRAP on the final season of Handmaids!
