On Valentine’s Day, February 14, Vicky Kaushal’s much anticipated movie Chhaava, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna, will be released in theatres. Sacnilk believes the historical action movie, which is supported by Maddock Films, is set for a successful premiere.
The website states that 2,32,746 tickets have been sold for 8.090 events throughout India on the first day of Chhaava. The movie is expected to make ₹6.74 crore in India so far, and ₹8.42 crore with block seats included. How much it makes on the first day is still unknown, although it likely surpass the ₹8.3 crore opening of his last movie, Bad Newz.
To put this year’s high-profile films in perspective, Shahid Kapoor’s Deva made ₹5.5 crore on its first day of release, while Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force made ₹12.25 crore. Chhaava may have one of the largest openers of 2025 thus far, as Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency had an opening of ₹2.5 crore.
Chhaava, a historical action movie directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, is based on the life of Vicky Kaushal’s character, Maratha ruler Sambhaji. In addition, Divya Dutta plays Soyarabai, Akshaye Khanna plays Aurangzeb, Rashmika Mandanna plays Maharani Yesubai, and Ashutosh Rana plays Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite. It is based on Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel Chhava. A. R. Rahman wrote the soundtrack album and the film’s score, while Irshad Kamil wrote the lyrics.
