Prompting the 64-year-old activist lawyer to double down on his stance against what he had earlier called indiscriminate vaccination, a tweet on vaccines by above mentioned Prashant Bhushan has been flagged as misleading by Twitter.
After attaching a news article mentioning a 45-year-old woman who died 10 days after receiving a COVID-19 vaccination, Prashant on Monday morning said that it was irresponsible to promote universal vaccination which is of experimental and untested vaccines and especially to young along with COVID-19 recovered, in a tweet.
He also mentioned that any chances of serious effects or dying due to COVID-19 were hardly possible with the healthy young, while deaths due to vaccines is a higher possibility for them and their naturally acquired immunity might also get compromised by the vaccines, in a follow-up tweet.
Followed by a slew of posts by other Twitter users criticizing his view, the social media platform slapped on a warning stating that its content was misleading after he posted the follow-up tweet.
Summarizing his vaccine scepticism saying that he was shocked by attempts to censor such contrarian views, Mr. Bhushan posted a deeper drive.
After another similar high profile labelling as manipulated of tweets which were posted by the Bhartiya Janata Party leaders like Sambit Patra who had accused the opposition Congress of preparing and sharing a tool kit or strategy document to corner the government over its COVID lapses, the move by Twitter came in.
