Victoria’s Secret welcomes Priyanka Chopra and Megan Rapinoe after company ditches ‘Angels’

Priyanka Chopra along with five others have joined Victoria’s Secret Campaigns as company decided to bid goodbye to the ‘sexy’ models.

The lingerie and comfort wear company has bid goodbye to their models, who they have worked with for years, the company has strutted down the runaways wear over-the-top attire featuring feathers and rhinestones that weighed in at approximately 30 pounds, noted by the New York Times.

In their spot, Victoria’s Secret has inaugurated a movement with high-profile women known for their achievements rather than their bodies and figures.

The campaign features, Soccer star and LGBTQ + activist Megan Rapinoe, freestyle skier and Youth and Women’s sports advocate Eileen Gu, model and advocate Paloma Essler, actor and entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra Jonas, transgender model and Mental Health wellness supporter Valentina Sampaio, model and South Sudanese refugee Adut Akech and photographer and Journalists Amanda de Cadenet are among those to spearhead the movement, according to the outlet shared by Victoria’s Secret.

They will toil with the trader to redefine what the term “sexy” implies as the corporation faces competition and tension to be inclusive of women with several body types.

Victoria’s Secret strives to evolve a global “advocate” for female empowerment, their chief executive Martin Waters said, as per the Times.

“When the world was changing, we were too slow to respond,” said Waters. “We needed to stop being about what men want and to be about what women want.”

The women incorporated in the new theme will be known as the ‘VS Collective’ and will focus on instructing the brand, occurring in ads and advertise the retailer on social media platforms.
