Marvel Comics is gearing up to introduce an exciting new version of the Hulk—Hell Hulk. This fiery, monstrous character will make his first appearance in Hellverine #6, hitting comic book stores in May 2025. The issue will be written by Benjamin Percy, with artwork by Raffaele Ienco, bringing this fierce new Hulk to life, as revealed in a recent Marvel.com announcement.
Hell Hulk is set to shake up the Marvel Universe with a brand-new look and power set. Unlike the iconic green Hulk that Bruce Banner is known for, Hell Hulk will sport a devilish, fiery appearance that’s already making waves among fans.
Benjamin Percy, the writer behind the Hellverine storyline, shared his excitement, saying, “We gave you the fiery mashup of Ghost Rider and Wolverine that is Hellverine. Now, we’re bringing in some more toys to play with in this hot sandbox, including the Hell Hulk, who has (no surprise) a BIG story to go along with his smashing debut.”
Hell Hulk’s introduction will be a key part of the ongoing Hellverine storyline, which centers around Wolverine’s son, Akihiro, who was recently resurrected. Since his return, Akihiro has taken on a supernatural, fiery form reminiscent of Ghost Rider. He’s been managing things in Hell, but when Hell Hulk enters the picture, everything is thrown into chaos.
The debut of Hell Hulk promises to be explosive—literally. This hulking force of destruction will tear through Hell, leaving a trail of devastation in his wake. Akihiro will have to step up and try to put a stop to the chaos, setting the stage for a dramatic confrontation.
Percy emphasized the significance of Hell Hulk’s role in the story, stating, “An investigation uncovers a shared link between various incidents: the presence of Hell Hulk, a beast whose infernal power sends shockwaves through everything around him. There’s a larger mystery unfolding, and only Hellverine can unravel it and stop a demonic conspiracy that threatens the world.”
Hell Hulk is also tied to a much bigger Marvel storyline involving Project Hellfire, a secretive operation run by a covert group within the Pentagon. This group is focused on harnessing infernal energy, and their experiments are taking place in a hidden facility known as the Pentangle.
While fans eagerly await the arrival of Hell Hulk, Marvel Studios is also introducing the Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World, set to be released on February 14, 2025. Harrison Ford will portray this version of the Hulk, bringing a fresh twist to the character. While Red Hulk and Hell Hulk are distinct, both versions promise to add new, exciting dynamics to the Hulk universe.
