Will Ferrell’s son, Magnus, recently shared a hilarious and unforgettable moment from a Christmas dinner at their home, which featured none other than John C. Reilly. In a recent appearance on the Lightweights Podcast, Magnus recalled how Reilly, a longtime friend and frequent collaborator of his dad, lit up the room at the family gathering.
Magnus described the scene, saying that it was a typical family dinner with close friends, but things took a fun turn when Reilly, known for his comedic talent, decided to start singing opera. “John C. Reilly was there, and it was pretty normal. And then, at one point, he just started singing opera,” Magnus said. The actor performed an entire aria, which Magnus described as “the most amazing thing.” Although the moment was bizarre, Magnus found it hilarious, saying, “But then you’re like, ‘Wait, this is so funny.’”
For those unfamiliar, John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell have starred together in iconic comedies like Step Brothers and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and their strong friendship extends beyond the screen. Ferrell, who has three sons with his wife Viveca Paulin, clearly has a family dynamic that values both humor and spontaneity, with Reilly’s unexpected opera performance being a prime example of that.
