The long-awaited World Test Championship (WTC) Final between India vs New Zealand match will have a delayed start as the first session of the match has been called off due to rain.
BCCI has confirmed that there will be no play before Lunch on Day 1 of the WTC Final and issued the unfortunate update on social media.

The toss for the WTC Final game was supposed to take place at 2:30 PM IST, which is also delayed. And cricket fans and players will have to wait more time for the same, as rain continues to pour in Southampton.
Earlier, the BCCI issued a weather update, sharing pictures from Southampton, confirmed that it was still raining also a couple of pictures of match officials checking the surroundings.
The weather report for the coming hours looks bad, by which it looks like the first day of India vs New Zealand match is likely to be rained off.

The New Zealand team also issued an update in a picture shared on the official social media handle, Kiwis players Tim Southee, Kyle Jamison can be seen having coffee and waiting for covers to be removed. Post was captioned: “Rain to start in Southampton means coffee and a chat watching the covers to start the day.”
Still, more updates are awaited for the big clash.
