WTC: Kevin Pietersen raises queries over Team India’s preparations for the marquee clash

Former English captain Kevin Pietersen has raised his queries over Team India’s preparations for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship final against the Blackcaps. Pietersen feels that coming straight out of the Indin Premier League and taking part in the Test game will make it difficult for Virat Kohli’s side of emerging victorious in the most expected cricket match of the season.

India will be facing New Zealand who just completed their Test series against the host England on a positive note as they won a Test series against England at their home after a long span of 22-long years. Pietersen appreciated the Kiwi’s preparation for the summit clash. He was worried about how the Indian side will get adjusted to the English conditions,  given they have had no Test match practice under their belt.

Pietersen who has played over 100 Test matches for the England side wrote on ‘Betway’ that, “New Zealand have had fantastic preparation for this World Test Championship final. They’ve played two Test matches against England and basically outplayed them in both. You can’t prepare for a Test match in England having been involved in an IPL that was called off a month ago and with no proper warm-up matches at all.”

The final game of the World Test Championship will begin from today at the Ages Bowl, Southampton. India is going with six batsmen, two spinners, and three from the fast bowling unit as per the playing XI announced by the team management yesterday evening.
