
In Kandivali, Mumbai, Marathi actress Urmila Kothare’s car struck a labourer, killing one and injuring another, according to police. Additionally hurt in the collision were the actress and her driver.
When the tragedy happened close to the Poisar Metro station, Urmila Kothare was on her way back from work. Two metro employees were struck after the driver lost control of the fast-moving vehicle. One employee was seriously hurt, while the other died instantly.
The actor was saved because the airbags in the car deployed in time, police said ABP Majha. Two workmen working on Metro rail beneath the Poisar Metro station in Kandivali East were struck by Urmila Kothare’s vehicle just after midnight. One worker died, and another suffered severe injuries.
Additionally hurt in the collision were the actor and her driver. According to a police official at the Samta Nagar police station, however, they were spared because the airbags deployed at the appropriate moment.
The police have opened an inquiry and filed a charge against the driver at the Samata Nagar Police Station. The actress’s car sustained significant damage in the collision, but she only suffered minor injuries since the airbag deployed in time.
Renowned Marathi actress Urmila Kothare has acted in films such as “Duniyadaari,” “Shubhmangal Saavdhan,” and “Ti Sadhya Kay Karte.” After a 12-year break, she just returned to television with the Star Pravah program “Tujech Mi Geet Gaat Ahe.”
Actor and director Addinath Kothare, her husband and the son of famous filmmaker Mahesh Kothare, has yet to remark on the incident in public. More information about Urmila’s and her driver’s injuries is pending as the police continue their investigation into what caused the collision.
