Aishwarya Rai Bachchan says, “I’d any day put family over career”

Bollywood Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan opens up about not accepting big Hollywood projects.

Actress-Model Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has been a heartthrob of millions of people all around the world, opened up and explained the reasons behind not accepting some popular Hollywood films. Aishwarya was once on the peak of her career. Even after her marriage she had done several big hit films in Bollywood.

Impressed by his performance, actor Will Smith offered her few films that include Hitch, Seven Pounds, and Tonight He Comes. But Aishwarya was seen in none of these films.

In a talk with IANS, Aishwarya clarified that she has her priorities straight. The actress stated that the script reading for The Seven Pounds was right after the occasion of Diwali when Teji Bachchan’s (mother of Amitabh Bachchan) health dipped drastically.

She explained that this is why she couldn’t head to the US to attend the reading session with the actor. “I’d any day put family over career,” she added.

The actress felt sad when she had to let go her role in ‘Tonight He comes’. But for her, family comes first and then her career choices.

According to a Pinkvilla report, the actor was supposed to play Briseis, but turned the part down because she was uncomfortable filming certain scenes. The role eventually went to Rose Byrne. Troy was a major box office success, which went on to make close to $500 million worldwide, and was nominated for one Academy Award.

Though she missed several big opportunities, she has made a significant mark in the entertainment industry while balancing her family life. Her films like Devdas, Jodha Akbar, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Guzarish, etc. are all time hits with her mesmerizing performance. She made her last appearance in the movie ‘Fanney Khan’.
