On Monday, Apple launched the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Intelligence, and AirPods 4. The iPhone 16 lineup from Apple consists of four variants as per tradition: the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max. Every model has its own distinct characteristics, but all are powered by the new A18 Pro chipset, which offers excellent performance capabilities across the board.
Features of the iPhone 16 series
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus include major cosmetic upgrades, like vertically stacked rear camera sensors, along with significant changes to both performance and functionality. With the same-generation CPU as the Pro versions, the iPhone 16 models get a performance increase thanks to the new A18 chip. With its 16-core Neural Engine (Neural Processing Unit), the A18 chip can handle AI tasks and process data on-device for future Apple Intelligence services. A 5-core GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) and a 6-core CPU (Central Processing Unit) are also included. The GPU can enable sophisticated gaming capabilities like hardware-accelerated ray tracing. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus users will also be able to play AAA video games that were previously inaccessible thanks to the A18 chip.
Additionally, Apple has added a new button for Camera Control. With touch movements, users may modify camera settings including exposure, zoom, and depth of focus via this capacitive button. In the upcoming months, a “lighter press” functionality to assist users with subject framing is anticipated. The features of the Camera Control button will also work with third-party apps like as Snapchat.
