After 17 years of early mornings, Hoda Kotb is finally hitting the snooze button—permanently! The beloved Today show host has stepped away from her role, and she’s wasting no time embracing her new routine. On Sunday, January 12, she shared a cheeky Instagram post showing her morning alarms—set between 3:00 and 3:30 AM—switched off. “No alarm … whaaaaaaaattttt???” she captioned, clearly reveling in her newfound freedom.
Her longtime colleague Savannah Guthrie chimed in with excitement, commenting, “Girrrrrrrrrrrl so happy for you,” before adding a relatable confession: “Plus, why am I still awake?”
Kotb’s decision to leave the NBC morning show was driven by her desire to spend more time with family. She officially signed off on January 10, wrapping up a career milestone that spanned nearly two decades. But even as she moves on, she’s showing love to her Today family.
Ahead of Craig Melvin and Savannah Guthrie taking over, she left them an encouraging note: “Wake up in the morning … and knock ‘em dead @savannahguthrie @craigmelvinnbc xxx. I am rooting for you.”
She also sent a heartfelt message to her Today with Hoda & Jenna co-host, Jenna Bush Hager: “Sleep tight—then tomorrow morning… Begin again… you are magic!”
From grueling wake-up calls to a well-deserved break, Kotb is stepping into a new chapter—alarm-free and full of love!
