Jason Isaacs recalls the cast members of the show sweating through the intimate scenes

With less than a month to go until The White Lotus Season 3 premieres, actor Jason Isaacs is giving fans a sneak peek into what it was like filming the much-anticipated season in Thailand. And let’s just say—it was hot.

Speaking with Time, Isaacs revealed that by the end of each shooting day, the cast was practically drenched in sweat and layers of melted makeup. “You could literally peel your clothes off with a trowel,” he joked, adding that even dental fillings felt like they were melting in the scorching heat. Despite the discomfort, he acknowledged that worse things are happening in the world—but still, filming in that weather was brutal.

After two successful seasons set in Hawaii and Italy, The White Lotus now takes its luxury resort drama to Thailand, where yet another group of wealthy guests will unravel their deep, dark secrets. Isaacs joins the cast as Timothy Ratliff, a powerful businessman who isn’t as clean as his wealth might suggest.

Meanwhile, showrunner Mike White also chimed in on the challenges of filming in Thailand’s sweltering climate. Summing it up in just a few words, he called it “really f—ing hot.”

But heat aside, The White Lotus Season 3 promises to dive into a whole new theme. White previously teased that while Season 1 explored wealth and Season 2 revolved around sex, the new installment will take a satirical and darkly comedic look at death, Eastern spirituality, and religion.

Get ready for more drama, scandal, and mystery—The White Lotus Season 3 lands on HBO on February 16.
