Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith’s divorce proceedings and legal filings get ugly among financial disputes

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith’s divorce has taken a heated turn, with Jackson now calling his ex-wife’s demands “unreasonable.” The former couple, who were married for nearly four years before separating in October 2023, are locked in a contentious legal battle—mainly over financial support for their 4-year-old daughter, Juno.

Turner-Smith has accused Jackson of failing to pay child support since their split and has now taken legal action to ensure financial security for their daughter. According to court documents, Turner-Smith claims Jackson once assured her that she would never have to worry about money if they ever separated, acknowledging the difficulties of being a Black woman and a single mother.

Now, the Bad Monkey actress is demanding $8,543 per month in retroactive child support, $28,641 in spousal support, and an additional $250,000 to cover legal and accounting fees. Sources close to Turner-Smith say she has been patient with Jackson but has now taken a firmer stance due to his lack of action.

However, insiders from Jackson’s side paint a different picture, arguing that Turner-Smith’s financial demands are excessive and fueled by resentment. “Josh thinks Jodie’s being totally unreasonable and trying to take him to the cleaners out of spite,” an insider told Life & Style.

Jackson and Turner-Smith first met at Usher’s birthday party in 2018 and tied the knot a year later. Their whirlwind romance initially captivated fans, but their divorce proceedings have now turned into a high-profile and messy legal battle.
