Karan Aujla, a Punjabi artist, had to stop his London gig last year after a fan threw a slipper at him. In response to the incident, he now says that the practice of hurling objects on stage is strange.
The matter was discussed by Karan in an interview with NDTV. “Because they are the reason I am here today, I always believe in treating my fans with respect,” he stated.
“This happened all of a sudden as I was giving my all on stage. As artists, we strive to create memories at every performance, so we give it our all. This tendency to throw strange objects on stage,” Karan continued. “It’s not how we express gratitude or part of our culture. I only seek for respect.”
In September of last year, Karan stopped his performance in the middle of London after someone hurled his sneaker at him. Numerous images and videos of the artist performing in London’s O2 arena went viral on social media. A sneaker was observed being thrown from the crowd as he sang and danced. It struck and fell close to the singer.
Karan paused the concert and said, “Hold on! Who was that, I f*****g telling you to come up on the stage. Let’s do one-to-one right now. I know how to fight. Don’t be throwing your shoes in shame. (Talking to a person) was it you? What are you trying to do? Come on, please. I don’t want you to see anything wrong. Be respectful.”
According to Times of India, he also added, “I am not singing that bad that you hit me with shoes. If any of you have a problem with me, then come directly on the stage and talk… because I am not saying anything wrong.”
Another video showed the person who flung their shoe being escorted out of the venue by security. Recently, singer Karan Aujla concluded his It Was All A Dream Tour’s Indian leg.
The Indian-Canadian singer held concerts in Mumbai on December 21 after performing in Chandigarh on December 7, Bengaluru on December 13, and New Delhi on December 15, 18, and 19.
