Margaret Qualley, 30, recently shared a heartwarming and funny story about her father, Paul Qualley, during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz. She revealed that her father, who is the ex-husband of actress Andie McDowell and the father of the Poor Things star, was completely starstruck when he met none other than Adam Sandler at this year’s Golden Globe Awards, which took place at The Beverly Hilton in California.
Margaret explained that she had brought her dad to the event, where he was eagerly looking forward to meeting the beloved actor known for films like Blended and Uncut Gems. Margaret, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the ceremony on January 5, explained on the podcast that her dad is a fan of many people, but Sandler is especially admired in her family. She went on to say, “In our family, Sandler is the best guy in the world. You want to be like him. You want to marry him… He’s the best.”
When Paul finally met Adam Sandler, he was so overwhelmed that he couldn’t even find the words to speak. Margaret recalled the moment with a laugh, saying, “My dad met Sandler, and he goes, ‘I can’t even talk to you, man. I can’t even talk to you.'” She admitted it was one of the cutest things she’d ever witnessed.
The podcast host, Josh Horowitz, agreed, sharing that Sandler is just as amazing in real life as he appears to be on screen. He described Adam as one of those rare people who are exactly as you would hope they’d be, both in terms of his character and how he carries himself.
