As per reports, Mariah Carey and her longtime partner Bryan Tanaka have ended their relationship. Tanaka abruptly stopped attending the singer-songwriter’s Merry Christmas One and All! tour in the middle of November, sparking speculation about their split up. Even before the report was confirmed, keen social media users noticed the couple’s absence from major events and social media.
According to a source close to Page Six, the couple separated because they wanted different things in life. The source added that the big gap of 14 years with Carey being 54 and Tanaka being 40 was an important reason for their breakup. As per the insider, “He wants to have a family. That’s not where she is at.”
For those who are unaware, the Obsessed singer and her ex-husband Nick Cannon have two children: Moroccan and Monroe. But Tanaka is childless.
Earlier, the mother of two was spotted without her partner on vacation in Aspen. This was uncommon because the couple had rarely gone on vacation without each other in the past seven years. Carey’s confession to People earlier this month that she had a terrible year only added fire to the raising suspicions about the relationship’s breakdown.
“I’ve been looking forward to this Christmas for, like, the whole year. Since last year — because last year wasn’t the greatest,” the Songbird Supreme said. “I’m thankful for them all, but it wasn’t my most fun version of Christmas ever,” she added further.
